Biography
Mary Roma Eve was the eldest child of Joseph and Hannah (Singleterry) Eve. She married James Colgon Campbell on 8 April 1818 at her uncle’s home, Forrest Hall, near Augusta, Georgia. Her cousin, Maria Fitzsimons Eve, married John Bones at the same event.
The couple made their home in Augusta and Savannah, Georgia. They had three sons: Robert Joseph Campbell (1820-1825), Henry Fraser Campbell (1824-1891), and Robert C. Campbell (1826-1885). The later two attended Augusta Medical College, co-founded by their uncle, Dr. Joseph Eve, and went on to become distinguished and well-respected doctors.
Mary died 5 July 1860 in Augusta, Georgia.
